Yes. Based on the formulation and raw material information, all Print Tattoo temporary tattoos are gluten-free.

By default, the tattoos are covered with a paper protective sheet and cut to size. After that, they are bundled and conveniently packed.
Optionally, tattoo sheets can be individually packed in a folded leaflet or cardboard sleeve.

In general, all colors that appear in your design can be printed.
In addition to classic black and standard colors, glitter and metallic colors such as gold, silver, or bronze can also be printed.

Print Tattoos – we all remember them from our childhood – are temporary skin tattoos that can be applied quickly and easily with water.
Print Tattoos are produced exclusively in accordance with the European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and are 100% manufactured in Austria. This ensures a safe, smooth, and reliable application every time.

Using a special process, inks are printed onto a specially coated paper. A certified, skin-friendly adhesive is then applied to the ink layer before a paper cover sheet completes the product.

Production at Print Tattoo by Stainer takes place exclusively in Austria — 100% made in Austria.

Preparing print files for your Print Tattoos is easiest when using our layout templates and following these steps:

Open the template in your preferred graphics program (we recommend Adobe Illustrator)
Edit the template and then save it from the graphics program as an “Illustrator PDF” (for full-bleed designs, please include 3 mm bleed)
Upload the files during the ordering process in the online shop or send them via email

With us, you can choose between three metallic color options: gold, silver, and bronze.

For optimal results, the line thickness of the designs must be at least 0.5 mm.

On the layout templates page, you will find templates for creating your custom tattoos available for download. A template for the back side is also included, containing all elements that must be placed on the back in accordance with regulations. You can find further information about this here.
The back side can be customized in grayscale (change fonts, add a logo or design elements) as long as all required elements are included.

When you receive the print approval file from us, you might wonder why the design appears mirrored.
The print approval file is shown mirrored because the design is printed reversed onto the tattoo paper. So—everything is perfectly fine!
Once the tattoo is applied to the skin or to an object, it will appear in the correct orientation.
If you order your design through our online shop, simply upload your artwork exactly as you want it to appear on the skin. We will mirror it during production so that it is displayed correctly after application.

Please keep at least 5 mm clearance between your design and the paper edge.

Online shop orders
When you order the product “Colored Temporary Tattoos” in our online shop, white ink is automatically included. We back the entire design with white, while the paper background remains transparent.

Download the template
Open the template in your preferred graphics program (we recommend Adobe Illustrator).
In the Layers panel, you will find a layer named “White Print”. Make this layer visible and place all areas you want to be backed with white on this layer.
Color all elements on this layer using the “White” swatch (this is a spot color with 100% magenta, which will be printed as white during the production process).

For best results, submit your artwork as a PDF with pre-cut (knockout) motifs.
Alternatively, you can send any common file format—vector or raster.

For raster graphics, please ensure a minimum resolution of 150 dpi at final size.

Images, graphics, and motifs that can be used as tattoo templates are subject to certain rights. Always check whether and how a file may be used before downloading.
Free tattoo templates
On sites like Freepik, some graphics can be downloaded for free. However, attribution of the author is then required and must be printed on the tattoo.
Templates for professionals
By purchasing an extended license from an image platform like Adobe Stock (Fotolia), you can find suitable motifs that you may use with confidence.

Photos and raster graphics should be supplied at final size with a minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch).
Vector graphics can be scaled without loss in quality.

Our standard sheet sizes for temporary tattoos are:

These sizes refer to the final paper size; you can place multiple motifs per sheet. These standard sizes are the fastest to produce.
Non-standard paper sizes are available on request from 1,000 pcs.

Products by Print Tattoo by Stainer meet the highest quality requirements and are tested in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and Council on cosmetic products. Our Print Tattoos are demonstrably skin-friendly and safe.

Do not apply temporary tattoos to open wounds, mucous membranes, near eyes or mouth, or on sensitive/irritated skin.
Water-transfer tattoos are NOT suitable for children under three years — choking hazard!

At Print Tattoo, yes. Our products are certified under strict EU regulations and TÜV-tested.
As our products are subject to strict health regulations, we manufacture exclusively in accordance with the Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009.
All materials, inks, and adhesives are dermatologically tested, and skin compatibility is confirmed.

The MOQ for custom temporary tattoos is 100 pieces per motif and size.
Due to our production process, smaller quantities are not possible.

We exclusively produce products that are dermatologically tested and compliant with EU cosmetics regulations.

No, due to our production process we cannot manufacture a single proof print. The minimum quantity—also for proofs—is 100 pieces.
However, we’re happy to send you our free sample kit with different Print Tattoos in advance so you can assess the product quality.

Print Tattoos are produced according to the European Cosmetics Regulation and can therefore be offered throughout Europe. We routinely ship to:

After application, tattoos remain nicely visible for about 2–6 days. During this time, they are water- and sweat-resistant.
Durability varies (within 2–6 days) depending on body area, activity level, skin oiliness, and hair.

You will usually receive your custom Print Tattoos within approx. 3–4 weeks from the moment you approve the print.
For large orders of several thousand pieces, we will communicate a delivery window in advance or deliver in batches.

1. Clean and dry the target skin area.
2. Remove the protective film from the front.
3. Press the adhesive side onto clean, dry skin.
4. Rub the tattoo, then wet thoroughly with a sponge or cloth and press for about 20–30 seconds.
5. Gently lift one corner of the backing paper to check if the image has transferred.
If the paper does not release easily, moisten again with a sponge.
6. Let the area air-dry — do not pat dry.

The easiest way is with our adhesive remover (available as a wipe or spray).
Alternatively, rub the tattoo with soap, cream, or baby oil to remove it at any time.

Temporary tattoos can be stored for about two years. Avoid extreme heat and humidity.

Shipping is handled by Austrian Post or courier services and freight forwarders such as DPD and DHL.

For online shop orders, shipping to Austria and Germany is free of charge.
For all other European countries, shipping costs depend on parcel weight.
From a cart value of €200 or €400 (depending on destination), shipping for online shop orders to other European countries is also free.
